Cala en la disco Porter Menorca - Resort Guide

The resort sits on a plateau overlooking a stunning bay in a protected nature area offering fabulous views of attractive undulating countryside, white sands and especially the bays' turquoise waters. As the light fades the frogs in the nature reserve begin their soothing nightly chorus.

What distinguishes Cala en la disco Porter is its location. Set on the plateau over a fabulous bay with terrific views of the untouched plateau on the other side and the lush valley that extends inland from behind the beach. The resort caters for a mix of packaged and independent holidaymakers. In the centre there is a fun park for younger children with lots of inflatables to let the children lose the last of the energies before bed! Being close to Mahon it also offers excursions into the capital for lots more to see and do. (uses depart hourly during service for the 20min journey to Mahon 1. 60 Euros - 2010)

Cala en Porter offers a variety of Bars and Restaurants to suit varying tastes. The local tourist authorities have invested recently so there is now a new play area for children, with football, basketball areas and climbing frames. Also Pentang ( Boule) courts. The resort centre has a new plaza for residents and visitors enjoyment, where evening handicraft markets take place during summer peak season. Certainly while many of the bars and restaurants cater for uk tourist tastes, there are some more authentic places to visit. Can Bernat Restaurant just outside on the resort offers great food (open fire grilled meats being a speciality ) along with an attractive terrace looking out onto the local countryside. La Vela ( good midday Tapas, and pleasant outside terrace ), La Paletta and Il Pulpo Restaurants are also recommended.

Cala en la disco Porter Beach Rated as one of, if not the best resort beach on Menorca, especially for smaller children due it's perfect sands, gently sloping shallows, falling into crystal clear turquoise waters. And while this makes it very popular for children it's big enough for those who prefer to avoid the little ones to find their ideal spots too!

Set in a large beautiful inlet the beach is protected and you can walk out many many meters on the fine sandy bottom.

The beach can be reached on foot via steps, by car with free car parking under shade or the usual little resort train. At the beach front their are public toilets (disabled too ) and a red cross/lifeguards post plus a facility to allow wheelchair users a shaded spot on the sand with a special waterchair for easier access to the water.

There is a good selection of beachside Cafe bars and snack restaurants with decent offerings along the entire length of the promenade.

Cala en Porter has fantastic views from beach as it is set in a very visual nature reserve. And with rocks fringing the entire length of the inlet snorkel fans will have hours of fish watching fun.

Cala en Porter is set in attractive countryside which borders right up the boundaries of the resort. For those in the know there are delightful walks to nearby Cales Coves with it's caves and three idylic bays.

Cala en Porter Sights Located at the very farthest edge of the bay entrace is Coves Xorio ( Xorio's Caves ) A magical must visit sunset "chill out" place with platforms with dramatic views over the bay and coast.
