Y'all need to comprehend that we're not and emotional person with regards to books. No, I promise I'm not heartless, I merely don't cry easily. Yes, during books my heart rate accelerates and I'll feel bad for the characters, however don't actually cry. This really is on the list of only books where I've got come this close to tears. And thats saying something.

When I buy into every one of the emotional thing book, I would like to first mention the characters.

Katniss is fantastic. She's incredibly strong and fierce. Now, that's my favorite sort of heroine and that i realize that sometimes these begin to blend together but something I adore about her would be the fact although she may be this stuff like countless other heroines around, she's not really lovable and witty similar to others. She's standoffish and also a loner and it uses a while for somebody to have to her. She's mature beyond her years because she gets for being. She had become the sole supporter of her family at this sort of young age and it also hardened her. She's a survivor. But sometimes this tough exterior became her downfall because she couldn't always see what's right in front of her: the fact people care about her. However, although its difficult to get past her hardened exterior, once you do, she's a remarkably kind and admirable person. This is especially shown through her actions in the reaping. She cared a lot for her family she was prepared to risk her life, with the knowledge that her chances for returning were slim, to keep her sister safe. If it is not worthy of respect, i quickly don't know what exactly is.

Peeta is a great character. He's essentially the whole opposite of Katniss. He's personable, caring, and charming. He truly cares about Katniss even when she can't visualize it herself. Although you may do not get to understand to much about him as this is from Katniss' perspective, you are able to still observe that she has admirable qualities too. Normally I love the alpha male along with the bad-boy (I reckon that its kinda my weakness) however do also are seduced by the sweet, respectful guys we fell head-over-heels for his heart.

Regarding secondary characters? Amazing. Each was unique in their way. Effie, sweetly oblivious Effie. Haymitch, who may drink somewhat to much, but features a heart under that surly exterior. Cinna, who truly cares about Katniss although he hardly knows her. Including the other tributes each had their own personalities that made them unique (Don't even get me going on Rue!).

This book was just so incredibly emotional. 24 kids enter an arena simply 1 is released. I honestly can't even imagine when i was in their situation. I know which i would do whatever it accepted survive, but exactly how would that change me? Each tribute was only trying to survive. They didn't want to be there (well, except some), but were made to be. When your facing your immediate death, how would you act? Survival changes people. These different reactions for their situations were shown remarkably well through all the various tributes. Collins' does a fantastic jobs of showing how different people would fare in this case. While the many bloodshed in the arena is disturbing, the most disturbing thing for me was the reality that people with the Capitol enjoyed it. Children were dying as well as them it absolutely was just entertainment. They were completely oblivious!! That it was all simply a game in their mind. Provided that these people were entertained, they were happy. It had been sick. Completely and utterly sick.

And be truthful, I felt awful for your other tributes, at the same time they attemptedto kill Katniss and Peeta. How can you not? These folks were thrown into a situation many of them weren't ready for and trying to find home. Whilst they were her enemies, I felt pity and guilt right together with Katniss. She, too, realizes that these people were only doing the things they were forced to accomplish like she was.

The Hunger Games is often a dark book about death and destruction, but within its dark exterior is really a beautiful story full of survival, hope and fighting for the purpose you adore.
