Experience within Shipping and Finance - Sven Edward

Hello, i'm Sven-Edward Moe and was born 28th of November 1976 in Kristiasand. The first years growing up took place in Ålefjær in attractive nature surroundings.

Over time residing in Kristiansand, me and my family relocated to Trondheim in the northern part of Norway. Where my father, Sven Moe, finished his engineering degree at NTNU.

My personal education and learning is two fold, so when I was 16 I completed the preparatory course forengineering school in Grimstad, at the University of Agder (formerly known as AID - Agder Engineering School).

After finishing the course, I carried on on with a 3-year mechanical engineering course at UiA.

My aim at the time was to make use my education to get a job within the offshore industry, and preferably in the vessel.

Thus I continued my education with a 1 year course to be able to work as first and second engineer any time I have attained sufficient expertise at sea. Within this year I also achieved the basic safety course as well as the two week long safety course for naval officers.

It was now time to serve my military service, and after the 2 months at “Madla” in Stavanger, I was sent to serve my military service as machine engineer in the Norwegian Coast Guard. The vessel I served my duties at was called - KV Agder.

My tasks at KV Agder are daily engine-room watches, and everyday maintenance.

After I completed my service within the armed service I began doing work for Det Søndenfjelds-Norske Dampskipselskap - DSND.

DSND is nowadays known as Subsea7. Subsea7 was the result of a series of mergers between DSND, Halliburton Subsea, Subsea Offshore and Rockwater over a lengthy period, with Rockwater and SubSea merging in 1999 to form Halliburton Subsea, and the resulting company merging with DSND in 2002 to form Subsea.

Subsea 7 is one of the world`s major subsea engineering contractors. The company`s worldwide offshore operations are supported out of Asia Pacific, Brazil, Gulf of Mexico, Norway, UK and West Africa. Subsea 7 has above 100 remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), four pipeline construction yards plus a fleet of modern, high specification dynamically positioned ships capable of deep water reeled and flexible pipelay, deepwater subsea construction and saturation diving. During my years in DSND / Subsea 7 I worked as a machine engineer on many of their vessels, however the vessel I spend most of my working hours was at DSND Surveyor.

DSND Surveyor was a Survey/ROV Support Vesseland during my time onboard we were situated outside Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
