As to where the revenue training function should sit on a company organization chart that is an intriguing issue, which begs the question about corporate attitudes to trained in general. Businesses in this country have already been criticized for not taking education seriously enough. Especially, the buck stops at the top - the Sales and Marketing Director, if theres one, the Leader if theres not.?The government has become increasingly involved in promoting instruction and education at all levels. At the time of writing it is heavily promoting control training and you will find an amount of awards available to businesses planning to specifically improve their leadership - and this could include sales leadership. Ongoing training remains the responsibility of line management, but responsibility lies also with the individual. To encourage individual responsibility a program have been made by some corporations whereby the individual sets out their own training program. These are the so called Learning Businesses. In some cases it has given management the excuse to abdicate responsibility for training. This pattern should be reversed.??
