My favorite horror film in recent memory however visits The Descent. It can be a story about 5 young girls who go exploring in an unmarked cave and properly, as you can visualize, everything pretty much moves wrong. I won't say anymore, but The Descent is undoubtedly a horror film worth experiencing. 

While remakes generally are not good, I very much enjoyed The Hills Get Eyes remake. It had been scary, over the best, horrific, and even funny from time to time. I will not get into details, but there is one scene within this movie that has stayed beside me, and is certainly not for the squeamish. 

Lastly, Sunshine, by Academy Award winning director Danny Boyle is another fantastic film. While it are probably not a true horror film per se, its plot is daunting and realistic and at the very least, it can be termed suspenseful.
