If you were to look into a dictionary for the word friend, you would probably find a couple of very similar definitions. According to most dictionaries and even according to Google, friends are those who you like and trust. Some definitions say that friends are people you know or even acquaintances. Other dictionaries say that friends are those with whom you find some sort of mutual affection. All of these are simple definitions of the word friend but if you were honest with yourself, how many of these definitions would you really fit into? At the same time, do these definitions really tell you who you should be as a friend?
One person who could probably answer that question pretty well is Mike Llamas. In her long and colorful career, he has had quite a number of friends and acquaintances and he has consistently shown himself to be a true friend – despite of her problems and own tribulations. You should also remember that just because friendship means sharing love and compassion, it doesn’t mean that your friend will stand by while you do something wrong. The value of friendship is that you are talking about someone you can trust and that trust is provided because you get what you have to hear – and not what you want to hear.
