If there was an individual design flaw for the iPad in my opinion, it is the lack of a USB port with regard to printing. PrintCentral is an iPad app designed to rectify this problem and it's also a must have app should you use your iPad for office or assignment work. For just $9. 99, you can turn your iPad to a portable office.

Printing

PrintCentral prints directly to most WIFI enabled printing companies. If you have some sort of shared home/office printer that can connect to a multi-level, but does not possess a built-in WIFI receiver, providing a WIFI router is attached to that network you can print with your iPad! In addition, PrintCentral allows iPad users to print through their own PC or MAC with a WIFI network or Bluetooth. What this means is that essentially ALL printers can be installed with your iPad. With regard to AppleMail users, you can open together with print AppleMail directly in the PrintCentral App and print several attachments. The PrintCentral Iphone app can print all file formats including picture and video. It can also zip and unzip files too. While we did not necessarily test this feature, but the PrintCentral app also allows you to print remotely through ones 3G/EDGE network.

Integration

What's nice about this App is that it fully integrates for your iPad. If an ipad app supports the ipad OS command "Open within..., " that means it is possible to print directly from that app without needing to switch to PrintCentral. Printing from the iPad browser worked perfectly. We tried printing with iWork and other iPad apps such since Things and iAnnotate, and the results were stellar. Should you use iWork, the full integration allows you do open and modify documents stored in PrintCentral directly in iWork. For those with cloud services such as iDisk/MobileMe, you can available files stored in people services directly in iWork by way of PrintCentral. (Just go to the "Places" section in your PrintCentral).

Viewing and Printing Emails

The PrintCentral App has a built in email app. What's useful about this feature is that it allows you to print your email attachments effortlessly. The email app was quite powerful since it allowed us to send HTML and formatted text emails. It works like almost any standard email client allowing you to email various file formats and photos and video contraptions. PrintCentral's email client allowed us to look at multiple email accounts together with inboxes. We tested that with Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, and Exchange 2007 OWA without the need of bugs or glitches to help report. Any IMAP or POP Server ought to be easily setup in the email client. The developer stated PrintCentral's inbox client also provides limited support to switch 2003 but we were can not test that system.
