The Rise and Fall of Ricky Kaka by Gianfranco on Jul 27, 2012 6:42 PM CEST

So as we get word that the financial gap between Milan and Real is to large for this move to work:

"The important thing is that we've cast the first stone, but the ball is not in Milan's court.

"The financial issue remains that the two systems are very different. Once a player leaves one country he can't enjoy the same perks when he returns. We're certainly interested. Kaka is a great player who has stayed in the hearts of all Milan fans. Let's see. We'll do what we can.

I don't really want to discuss the merit of the move here and now. Though I have always contended that if the move makes sense financially and is low risk to the Club that any player is welcome regardless of age or stature. With that said I want to focus more on the downfall of Kaka the player and come clean a bit on my feelings towards him past, present and future.

Every year Milan, along with Juventus and Inter, participate in the Trofeo TIM. A round robin tournament that see's the teams play in cheap christmas gifts shortened matches, all in the same day, akin to a youth soccer tournament. Every year Milan finds a way to muddle their way through, and every year true to form some fans use this tournament as some sort of benchmark of data for the way the season will proceed. Unfortunately, the same fans that want to benchmark this utterly useless public relations tournament neglect to realize that the preseason has literally just begun and any stock put into these matches is fairly useless. How quickly fans seem to forget that the summer prior to our scudetto victory was one of the worst preseasons on record, yet the boys still lion sounds managed to win a Title in the next season. Clearly patience is truly a virtue...

On Monday I asked for inputs, specifically three players, you felt Milan should target. Lots of solid inputs, pleased that nobody said Messi, CRON, and Torres, while I did see some requests for totally unproven young players, I think many of us are looking towards the future and willing to sacrifice a bit of the present. A good rational start as Milan begin to rearm and rebuild for FFP, and more importantly future success. Juventus survived the sale of Zidane, they bought players to help build a foundation of success, and still had money left over to buy some referees, but that is not the issue at hand! I promised my three, and if you saw the photo, you may know where I am going with this...

So in the next day or so the inevitable announcement of PSG's capture of Silva and Ibra will be complete. We will be subjected to the media announce, photos and total utter from the BS players about how they always dreamed of playing for PSG and hope to win many trophies and so on. It would be great if Zlatan was not a hypocrite, and stood up their and said, "I got paid bitches!" At least at the end of the day he was telling the truth, speaking of the truth last week I asked speak to text for a plan from management. A sort of where do we go from here, and while the rumor mill has been churning, I have heard a few other issues as well.

Over the years I have always done my best to support the Club. I have stood by them when they have moved forward from Club legends like Shevchenko and Kaka. I have always believed that progress, be it through the sale of players and reinvestment, is simply footballing evolution. I have also stood by and accepted, with much grumbling, shambolic transfers and hirings that have taken place, such as Ronaldinho, Huntelaar and Leonardo. Understanding that every Club goes through ups and downs, cycles of success and failure. If you support a team long enough, and you are fortunate, you get to see it all. I have seen Milan on top of the World, I have seen them as the laughing stock of Europe in 1997, and I have seen them ebb and flow through the last twenty five years to moments of glory and moments of defeat. Never have I felt entitled to anything more then given, but now I would simply like an explanation.
