The chairman of the Indian selection panel, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, is unfazed by India's performances against England and South Africa, and says India will come to the get together when it issues most.

Talking to a leading Indian newspaper, Srikkanth identified that the Indian crew had been performing brilliantly on his watch, and had proven nice resilience under pressure, over the past years, together with his typical homily of "Let's not forget that".

Srikkanth does not find a lot fallacious with India's bowling, and remains upbeat about India's title bid.. He says it is only about finding the proper mixture, and that India have used the group phase wisely, attempting out completely different permutations. Nevertheless, he didn't make clear why Ashwin was the only bowler omitted of such experimentation.

The chief of selectors found consolation in the fact that England's Anderson and Swann, both accomplished bowlers, had gone for runs on the flat sub-continental tracks served up at this world cup. By comparison, this made the Indian bowling look less futile than it appeared, according to Srikkanth, who stated that India had used the league section for experimentation as it was meant for use, and the defeat to South Africa must be seen as a part of the process.

To underscore his level, Srikkanth harked back to India's well-known title-winning exploits on the 1983 world cup. He pointed out how India had been beaten by Australia within the group stage, and had bounced back strongly, to beat the same crew, in the semi-finals. There, too, India had experimented with bowling combinations, while they may, in the group stage.

Srikkanth also found nice cheer and consolation that Sri Lanka, South Africa, Pakistan, New Zealand and England had all tasted defeat in the group stage of the match, leaving Australia as the sole crew to not lose a single recreation, in this phase. That data would assist console Indian supporters that their home group was not alone in its misery, in keeping with the selection chief.

Srikkanth also felt that Steyn's bowling in opposition to India was not as sensible because it was being made out to be., and that India's batsmen had lost their wickets owing to making an attempt too many formidable shots. He felt that 'normal' cricket and standard pictures would have helped the Indian trigger better below the circumstances.

The former India captain had a ready answer for a query about India's out-cricket issues: secure ground fielding and abstention from dropping of catches was the straightforward tonic he prescribed for the persistent disease.

The chief selector's first name was spelt with a single 'Ok' before he found the fun of numerology. By the way, Srikkanth went on a non secular pilgrimage before the world cup and unleashed that most highly effective weapon of all - the P-U-J-A - to quell any bid by rival teams to win the holy grail that's rightfully India's.
